Octopussy

So, I can’t remember what the official theme song was to Octopussy, but I think we can all agree that it didn’t rock hard enough.  If it did, I’d remember it, right? Fortunately, Derailleur’s on the case.  As part of our Bond Themes project, we’ve recorded a new Octopussy theme; a rough mix of it can be heard here.

And, although this is a Derailleur song through and through, this is also more or less what I picture The Awesome Boys as sounding like, except without the backing vocals.

I listened to Octopussy, and pronounce it rockin’. This is actually the first I’ve heard of the Bond Themes project, believe it or not. I’ve been wondering for a long time how things would turn out. I approve. Well done.

Which is the Roger Moore skiing Bond movie? Do you think you guys could write some music to accompany that scene?

Grrrrracias! This whole Bond thing is your fault, really. Here’s another one that’s in the rough mix stage.

As fr Roger Moore skiing, there are a couple of them– I know The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only both have big ski scenes. I think Eyes has the more ridiculous of te two, with bad dudes on ice motorcycles and Bond skiing down a picnic table. Mark’s contribution to the Bond project– called “Win, Lose, or Die”– would be a perfect soundtrack for it. Just you wait.
